**Sixth anniversary of Nepal Insurance and Risk Management Association (NIRMA) completed**
The sixth anniversary of Nepal Insurance and Risk Management Association (NIRMA) concluded with a grand ceremony at Siddhartha Cottage, Kathmandu on Ashad 4, 2082. The program was started with the reception of Mr. Uday Adhikari, vice president of production.
Chief guest of the program Mr. Sarad Ojha, Chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority clarified that the authority is making necessary policy and practical efforts to solve the problem of hydropower insurance and hydropower insurance. He described the role of associations in making the insurance sector transparent, organized and trustworthy.
Chairman of Nepal Insurance Association Mr. Birendra Baidwar Chhetri assumed that a separate insurance policy is required for it due to the specialty of hydropower projects. He suggested searching for solutions to problems with claim payment, saying covering hydropower is not fair under current property insurance.
Former Chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority Mr. Fatt Bahadur KC said that coordination between insurance companies, regulators and promoters is necessary, it’s time to seek a solution together. He noted that part of the risk of hydroelectric insurance would be more effective if the government itself could bring the arrangement for ‘self insurance’.
Mr. Sukalyan Parajuli, the treasurer of the person who presented the worklet regarding “Hydropower Insurance” in a program where intensive interaction on contemporary issues of insurance and hydropower sector. He presented a presentation with facts and logic about the current insurance model, behavioral problems and policy revision requirements.
The contributors of the insurance sector were felicitated by the chief guest Mr. Ojha in the program. Also, long-time actively working members in the construction and organizations that helped make the program a success.
The program had notable presence of Mr. Sushil Deb Subedi, Executive Director of Nepal Insurance Authority, Mr. Poshakraj Poudel, President of Jeevan Insurance Association Nepal, Mr. Om KC, President of Surveyor Association Mr. Mohan Puru Dhakal, Ippan representatives, members of Bimak Association and members of construction.
The program was conducted by Mr. Deepak Adhikari, General Secretary of Production and President of the Association Dr. It was done by Rabindra Ghimire. At the conclusion, the member of the production Mrs. Laxmi Pathak Adhikari gave the formal thank you comment of the program. President Dr. Ghimire expressed gratitude to all participants and co-operative organizations and token of love.
The program has given a message that can make construction’s role more effective towards solving, improving and coordination of the insurance and hydropower sector problems.
