Fifth Annual General Meeting of Nepal Insurance and Risk Management Association (NIRMA) Successfully Concluded

The Nepal Insurance and Risk Management Association (NIRMA) proudly held its Fifth Annual General Meeting at Malpi International College, Chakrapath, Kathmandu, in a grand and successful manner. The gathering was graced by the enthusiastic presence of executive committee members and trustee members.

In the session, President Dr. Rabindra Ghimire presented NIRMA’s annual report, highlighting the wide range of initiatives carried out over the past year. These included the much-admired “NIRMA Talk Series,” several other thematic programs, research and studies on insurance-related issues, collaborations with national and international institutions, and the outline of future plans. Following constructive discussions, the report was unanimously endorsed by the assembly.

Treasurer Suklayan Parajuli then presented the financial and audit reports, which provided a transparent overview of income and expenditure, project-specific expenses, membership renewals, and sources of support. The audit report further confirmed that the association’s financial activities were managed with discipline and transparency. These reports, too, were approved with valuable inputs and suggestions from the members.

Looking ahead, General Secretary Dipak Adhikari shared the program and budget for the fiscal year 2082/83. The proposal included ambitious plans such as expanding insurance education, offering trainings and workshops for professional growth, advancing research and publications, enhancing member engagement, and fostering collaborations with regulators and academic institutions. The budget outlined strategies for mobilizing resources to implement these initiatives. With members’ insightful feedback incorporated, the plan and budget were unanimously approved.

During the open discussion, members expressed thoughtful suggestions to make NIRMA even more impactful—emphasizing the need to broaden insurance education efforts, increase professional interactions, and strengthen international partnerships. The executive committee resolved to integrate these priorities into the upcoming action plan.

The assembly concluded with heartfelt remarks from Vice President Uday Raj Adhikari, who extended gratitude to all members for their continuous support, constructive suggestions, and active involvement, while expressing optimism for NIRMA’s brighter journey ahead. The meeting was skillfully conducted by General Secretary Dipak Adhikari.

In essence, the Fifth Annual General Meeting marked an important milestone in strengthening NIRMA’s institutional framework, transparency, and sustainability. It reaffirmed the association’s commitment to elevating awareness, education, and research in the field of insurance and risk management to new heights.
