Contemporary Issues in Risk Management and Insurance

Realising the need of capacity building of the employees working in life, nonlife, and microinsurance companies in Sudurpaschim Province, a one day seminar on “Contemporary Issues in Risk Management and Insurance” was successfully conducted in Dhangadhi, by Nepal Insurance and Risk Management Association (NIRMA) in collaboration with the Nepal Insurance Professional Society (NIPS) on 9th of Falgun, 2081. Mr. Prakash Bahadur Bam, the State Minister for Economic Affairs of Sudurpashchiem Province, inaugurated the seminar as a chief guest. In the opening remarks, he emphasized the need to make insurance accessible to everyone and focused quality services to the customers. The seminar featured various speakers, including representatives from Nepal Reinsurance and Nepal Insurance Authority. Around 120 employees from life, non-life, and micro-insurance companies attended the event.
The opening session was chaired by Dr. Rabindra Ghimire, President of NIRMA, Sunil Shrestha, NIPS president welcome to the participants and Guest of the program Mr. Surendra Thapa, CEO of Nepal Reinsurance Company also put opening remarks and extended his best wishes for the success of the program.
We believe that through this program we have been able to contribute a brick raising awareness in the field of Insurance and Risk Managements and we also receive the feedback from the participants it was beneficial.
